The new Runcorn to Widnes Merseyside Gateway project is set to be opened later this year. The bridge will relieve the congested and ageing Silver Jubilee channel which will eventually, reduce congestion and increase travel efficiency. NL Williams Group is providing a full Highway’s agency specification on steel concealments that protect the suspension cables from corrosion and wear. These cables are located across the tower units to provide extra support to the deck sections, which will be issued to heavy trafficking.
The new toll bridge is just over 2 kilometres long and as part of local infrastructure, NL Williams is proud to have been involved in this ongoing project. We look forward to the completion date towards the end of this year.
